Ventures — Digital Infrastructure

Africacolo.
Digital Infrastructure for East Africa.

Enterprise-grade data centre capacity, colocation, and cloud enablement for the region's digital economy. Being developed with a focus on Nairobi, Kenya.

01
The Challenge
Demand outpacing
capacity.

East Africa's digital economy is expanding rapidly. Cloud adoption, artificial intelligence, financial technology, enterprise digitization, connectivity demand, and data sovereignty requirements are all increasing the need for secure and resilient digital infrastructure.

Yet infrastructure capacity remains limited relative to the region's long-term demand. Data sovereignty requirements in particular are tightening across the region, which means workloads that previously sat offshore increasingly cannot.

The demand is not in question. The capacity to serve it is.

The Underlying Problem

Digital demand is growing faster than the infrastructure needed to support it.

02
Our Response
A scalable
infrastructure platform.

Africacolo is being planned to deliver enterprise-grade data centre capacity, colocation services, cloud enablement, connectivity, and future infrastructure for AI workloads in East Africa.

The venture is being developed with a long-term view: supporting businesses, public institutions, technology companies, and international investors seeking reliable infrastructure in the region.

Nairobi is the starting point for good reason. It holds the region's deepest connectivity, the most established commercial property market, and the clearest demand signal from both regional enterprise and international operators evaluating entry. It is also where the precedent for the region will be set.

Planned Capability

What Africacolo is being built to deliver.

01
Data centre capacity
Enterprise-grade facility capacity built to standards international operators and investors can underwrite against.
02
Colocation services
Secure, resilient colocation for organisations that need regional presence without building their own facility.
03
Cloud enablement
Infrastructure supporting regional cloud adoption, including for workloads that data sovereignty rules require to stay in-region.
04
Connectivity
Carrier and network connectivity positioned to serve regional enterprise and international traffic.
05
AI workload infrastructure
Future capacity planned for the power and cooling demands that AI workloads place on a facility.
06
Regional scale
Designed with expansion beyond Nairobi in view, rather than as a single-site project.
Who It Serves

Built for the region's long term.

  • Businesses — regional enterprise requiring reliable, in-region infrastructure
  • Public institutions — government and public bodies operating under data sovereignty requirements
  • Technology companies — needing regional presence and capacity to serve East African users
